Imagine ridding yourself of dreadful foot or ankle pain

We're offering 5 Expert Foot & Ankle Pain Assessments this week valued at £95 for only £39 (60% OFF)

There’s nothing more frustrating or saddening than waking up in the morning with dreadful pain in the ankle or foot and not being able to walk the dog, go for a run, play those much-loved sports or do the things that bring joy to life.  Except there is! And that’s when people are told they have Plantar Fasciitis and the treatment they are given doesn’t work.

Every day we hear things from our first-time patients like “walking is no longer a pleasure” or “I’m no longer the runner I used to be”.  These patients have often been struggling to get rid of the pain for years and are often told they have Plantar Fasciitis, but this may not be the case at all.

At the Foot & Ankle Clinic, we treat foot and ankle pain everyday!

While foot pain can be due to Plantar Fasciitis, there are many cases when it is not the correct diagnosis.  So how do people know if they have Plantar Fasciitis and getting the right treatment?  Good question! Here are the signs that it is not plantar fasciitis.

  • Burning, tingling, hot poker sensations or any neurological symptoms
  • Pain on the top or outer edge aspect of the feet
  • Tenderness on pressing from the arch to the inside ankle bone
  • Pain at the very back edge of the heel
  • Chronic dull aches that are difficult to pinpoint or appear to move around

When people experience these or similar symptoms, getting treatment for Plantar Fasciitis is not going to work!  And we know how frustrating that is.

On the other hand, when people experience a peak in pain first thing in the morning, after periods of rest, and after lengthy walking or activity, it could well be that they do have Plantar Fasciitis.  Similarly, if the pain is in the heel or inner edge of the foot and is sharp on weight-bearing with a dull throbbing/aching after lots of activity, it could mean a diagnosis of Plantar Fasciitis.

Foot and ankle pain is very complex and getting the right diagnosis is crucial for people who want the right treatment to get them back on their feet and doing the things that they love again

But don't take our word for it, here's what some of our patients are saying:

Gill was diagnosed with Sciatica over 3 years ago, which was causing chronic pain on a daily basis and required the use of a walking stick for mobility.  Gill received a course of specialised treatment at the clinic.

Lucy was diagnosed with a Plantar tear over 2 years ago, this then caused her pain in the achilles tendon.  Running became impossible with both injuries at the same time.  Lucy received a bespoke course of treatment at the clinic.

Naomi developed a sensation under the ball of her foot whilst training for a half marathon.  The sensation soon developed into a pain that prevented her from running.  The issue was diagnosed as a Morton's Neuroma.  Naomi received specialist course of treatment at the clinic

IMPORTANT - The welfare and safety of our wonderful patients and staff is of the utmost importance to us. As a medical clinic, as standard procedure we have very high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.  However, during these COVID times we are going further, not only following all Government guidelines, for example with respect to staff and patients wearing masks and appropriate PPE, but we have also installed a full air extraction system, meaning that a whole new set of air circulates the clinic every 4 minutes!

We also wipe down the treatment chairs in between every patient and the waiting room chairs have been spaced out, so that you are not sat waiting shoulder to shoulder with another patient.

As we are based in a shopping mall, patients can also wait outside the clinic in the warm and dry should they arrive early, as we also ask people to try and arrive as promptly as possible to minimise people in the clinic.

If you have any questions at all about whether you should attend your appointment, please request a phone call and one of our friendly staff will call you back to screen your symptoms and/or let you know what precautions we are taking for your and our staff's safety.
